Dr. Franco F. Yanine is a professional engineer, researcher, and professor at the Faculty of Engineering of Universidad Finis Terrae and is also a professor of the MBA program at Univ. Técnica Federico Santa Maria. He is an industry consultant for FIU, USA. Fernando received his M.Sc. and Sc.D. in Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC) in March 2014; and also holds B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso, USA, and M.Sc. in IE (USACH) degrees. His research interests and projects include Homeostatic Control of Sustainable Energy Systems, Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Energy Poverty Relief, Thriftiness, Service Engineering, Homeostaticity in high performance systems and Industrial Organization & Management.
Dr. Yanine is a multifaceted researcher in several research networks and was a visiting researcher at the Univ. of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada 2nd semester 2012, where he worked at the Systems Design Engineering Dept as a graduate researcher. Aside from his academic background, he has the professional experience of having worked for over 30 years in project and process engineering, engineering management and project/program management in several industrial sectors. He is the inventor of Waterless WC, a new toilet and urinary system that uses no water by employing a totally different paradigm in sanitary systems engineering, with patents at INAPI-Chile. Fernando es chileno y estadounidense, D.Sc. y M.Sc. en Ingeniería (PUC), y posee un BSc. en Ingeniería Eléctrica de la U. of Texas at El Paso UTEP (Mayo 1988), y es Lic. en Cs. de la Ingeniería e Ing. Civil Industrial de la UNAP sede Iquique (Dic. 2006). Trabajo en numerosos proyectos de Ingeniería Control e instalación de turbinas de generación eléctrica para empresas del área industrial y de generación en USA y Latinoamérica, como gerente de proyectos de Wood Group Corp. Vive en Chile.
